Thanks for the writeup. quick questions if I may:

1. do you know if Xero/Quickbooks etc are in Malaysia or planning to enter into Malaysia?

2. do you know if malaysian uni teachs or uses Autocount software in accounting courses? (this is a great way to plant the seed for future users)

3. who are their competitors? and do you have market share information?

1. You can technically use both, but they are not localised and lack much of the typically required features you need to run a business in the country, thus requiring subscribers to look for third party applications to do other things

2. I disagree here, learning software in Uni is not indicative of any future sprouting. I know as I learned software at university. You get the vast majority of your experience through simply working with firms as an employee. University is a bubble-like environment in accounting, you learn theory but very little practical application. With that said, they (as most do) have a certification academy for their program use.

3. AFAIK Autocount is the largest by a factor of 3 to 4-fold but other comps includes:

- Access UBS

- SQL

- Smart New Retail

- ABSS

- QNE

I have lived in Malaysia many years BUT am not familiar with the stock. Malaysia is a mixed economy with many government linked companies (GLCs) or indirect GLCs or companies with, let's say murky ownership or political ties... What often matters here is if a company is "owned" or "run" by a Bumi or you need an "Ali Baba" in place to get contracts from the gov't or GLCs while big foreign businesses would use their own systems. With that said, there are still many (Chinese owned) SMEs who would not want to pay for expensive foreign accounting software and opportunities elsewhere in SE Asia...

Data from the GLC Transformation project suggests that whilst GLC's have a very large presence on the Bursa (36% of market cap), they employ 5% of the workforce, so I am not sure this view matters much for this company in particular, as it is locally made software.

Thank you though.
